What You’ll Find Here

Muses Fled is a place for my personal creative work that doesn’t quite fit anywhere else.

Some pieces begin as quiet observations that turn into poems. Others start as sketches in the margins of a notebook, experiments with yarn or clay, or photographs captured while wandering somewhere new. Occasionally, an idea refuses to stay contained and becomes a short story or a strange hybrid creature of its own.

This site gathers both my intentional explorations and my creative clutter together under one roof.

Here you’ll find:

  • Writing: Poetry, short fiction, musings, and the occasional reflective piece written in moments that insist on being captured
  • Fiber & Needlecraft: Crochet, embroidery, sewing projects, weaving, and other experiments with thread and texture
  • Visual Art: Sketches, doodles, paintings, and illustrated ideas, both physical and digital
  • Ceramics: Pieces formed on the wheel or by hand, along with the occasional glaze experiment (that most likely didn’t go as planned)
  • Photography: Small moments and landscapes captured while traveling or exploring close to home
  • Gardening: Notes from the garden, where growing things provide both inspiration and an abundant supply of lessons in fortitude and patience

Some works are polished. Many are simply part of the process—honest reflections of the days when you have to choose to acknowledge and embrace the messy and chaotic.

All of them exist because making things, especially when inspiration feels distant, is still worthwhile.

If you’ve wandered in, welcome, traveler.
